Welcome to the Housing for Women tenant information pages. On these pages we hope to provide useful information for our tenants and an additional method of reporting problems and giving feedback to the Association.

Perhaps you would like to know more about obtaining a transfer from your property or paying your rent. The tenants' handbook contains much useful information for tenants and is also available as a pdf download. (Needs Adobe Acrobat). There is also information on what Housing for Women expects from our tenants.

Tenants of Housing for Women can of course telephone the Association on direct lines which will speed up access to your housing officer or the maintenance department.

  • direct dial numbers

The numbers are also published in the tenants' handbook and the newsletters.

Sinners, Scroungers, Saints:
Lone mothers, past and present

17 October 2007 - 29 March 2008
Entrance free

From First World War widows to the ‘Vicky Pollard' stereotype of teenage mothers, Sinners, scroungers, saints explores the ways in which lone mothers have been represented over time.

Developed in collaboration with One Parent Families | Gingerbread , the exhibition showcases new research, challenges common perceptions and tells the stories of lone mothers from the 1800s to the present day.

There are many reasons why women become lone parents, including relationship breakdown, forced separation and, although rare, the independent choice to ‘go it alone'. Sinners, scroungers, saints presents archive material and personal testimonies, questioning some popular myths.
